Rear brake pad life- 2012 TriGlide
I know brake life varies with riding habits and road conditions. But, I'm curious what others are experiencing in miles you get out of rear brake pads. My TriGlide is in for service, and the dealer says the rear pads only have 20% left...and they are only 5K miles old. And no the parking brake isn't dragging, because I don't use it so i adjusted it loose.
I'd appreciate your input.

Wife's 2009 fri had the pads and rotors changed at 3000 miles under warranty. It was traded in at 55,000 with the same breaks. Her 2011 tri had 35,000 miles on the original breaks when traded for her '14. I've got 7,000 miles on my 'Free and the pads look new. Do you engine break? 5,000 miles seems way too early for pad wear.

I've got about 22,000 miles on my 2012. Many of those miles were pulling a 25 cu. ft. trailer that has no brakes. So the brakes do extra work stopping both the trailer and the bike. Lately, my brakes are starting to squeal a little louder, so I reckon it is time to take a serious look at them.

Changed our 2013 at 20K and they were still good for another 10K I would bet, but I had the Lyndall 7255 Gold on the shelf and wanted to put them on while I had the time. I ordered them when I heard Lyndall said they were discontinuing them. Revzilla still has them in stock though.
