Default New member Trike question

Hello I am a new member and have not ridden a bike in over 25 years until recently. I just took a rider course and got my endorsement. My wife and I have been looking at bikes serious for the last year and leaning toward getting a trike.
Any thoughts or options?

Mary and I are really enjoying our Tri-Glide. It is a bit different than a 2 wheeler, no leaning, but it offers a very comfortable stable ride and has it's own kind of fun.

If you have ridden and ATV, it steers like one of those. If not, the learning curve is very quick.

It is a much more relaxed ride than a 2 wheeler...oil, sand, etc. in the road that can put a 2 wheeler down become practical non-issues on a trike.

Give one a test ride, that's what we did a few years ago, we no have around 80K miles riding Tri-Glides and are very happy we did it.

I am making my first payment tomorrow on my '15 Tri Glide and have put 1600 miles on it so far. It was a short learning curve with three wheels I really love it now. My wife is comfortable on the back and riding in the rain or gravel is a non-issue. I am finding it corners very well and I can carry A LOT in the trunk.

Let me echo the thoughts of those above. It allowed me to relax in adverse conditions and enjoy the ride. DO I miss leaning into a curve? Yep Do I miss having to hold up myself, the wife our luggage and a 950 lb Limited in traffic doing 2 mph? Nope..Now I sit back, drink water or coke and have a snack while laughing at my riding buddies on two wheels. Backing out of a parking space? No problemo now. Holding the bike up when the road is slanted and one foot needs to be 6 inches longer that the other to touch the ground? Not an issue. Wife moving around on the back? not any more, she sleeps.

You will learn where your fenders are and it will use more fuel. Oh and you get lots more play on your trike. Everybody wants to talk about it or look at it or......

What the 8 people above all said + + +
Just a few MINOR drawbacks to a trike No more gutter running, lane splitting, or sidewalk riding. Beside being against the law, I'm too old to be doing that anymore. We set rules, no eating out unless it is at least a 50 mile round trip and we use the trikes. We rarely use the cars unless we are shopping, but here in So. Cal. it may hit 50* in the dead of winter.

Bottom line, RIDE it, every time you park it, you will draw a crowd. If you are old like us you will see a lot of people your age just dying to do what you did, but don't have the *****. Take a couple long trips, you will meet tons of other 'oldsters' on trikes having the time of their lives.

Watch that oldsters stuff. We aren't all there yet. Wife told me after 30 years of no bike that if I would buy a trike, she would ride with me. One 2015 Triglide later I'm happy. Just like riding my atv, only faster.
