Default some more newbie questions

Hi Guys...

a few quick questions.....

when you ride on the highway..do you ride in the center of the lane? or do you move off center a little bit because of oil...

also..when you park your park..do you leave it at an angle to the sidewalk or parallel to the sidewalk?

sorry for all the questions...new rider here

When riding by my self I usually ride in the middle of the lane.

When parking, if by my self I park parallel to the curb.

A lot depends on the road conditions. Some have a higher crown in the center, some roads have a bigger deposits of nasty stuff in the center. I guess just good old common sense in where I ride....but mostly center, or a little towards the center of two lane. A lot of edges of road are weak, crumbled and have some major potholes....plus a little slip and one drive wheel falls off the road and could find yourself in a ditch...always error towards the center.

I park at an angle if possible, easier to pull out, less likely to bang a muffler of body.

Pretty much dead-on on how I ride and park.

About lane position, you don't really have much choice. Center your front wheel is in it, off center one of your rear wheels. Wife and I have never had a problem (we both ride). We both were on 2 wheels for so long we angle into the curb just like it was a 2 wheeler. It may be wider, but not much longer. Just be careful of the pipes and the curb.
Enjoy that new toy, ride the hell out of it. It is a motorcycle, not an end table that sits and you look at it.

I ride in whatever part of the lane makes the most sense for the conditions. If it is obviously oily, I would rather have a rear tire in the oil.

Same with parking, whatever is best for situation...usually at an angle.

I'm with both Casper and Kevin, different situations and road conditions require different methods. No "one size fits all".

Screwball, you cracked me up about the end table.
You also woke me up to the fact that I've been doing more looking then riding.
