If they are stuck I have a bar I made to get em to turn, then you can do something.
The bar is 5/16 inch steel made to fit just through the opening or on top depends if it is enclosed or not. It has 2 nuts welded to it. I use the muffler bolts and connect. It has a arm about 1 foot long and can be used with a extension if need be. This gives enough leverage to get it to turn good. and you can pull outwards at the same time.
This really helps. I had to make one to get the mufflers off my 07 ultra, they would not budge.

Mentioned this on the 'other board' and maybe here too. I bought CFR knock-off megaphones for both my Freewheeler and her Tri-Glide for $175 a set and free shipping. Slipped right on both scoots and sound great. V & H make some really nice equipment with outstanding fit and finish, BUT they sure aren't cheap.

Any pictures of how they look on the trike?
A link to where you bought them?
How do they sound, Low rumble and quiet on steady speed, or loud enough you can still hear them 2 blocks away?

My Freewheeler and wife's Tri-GLide. Same slip-on fits both trikes even though the Freewheeler stock slip-on is 2 1/2 inches shorter. Hard to see from the picture, but neither muffler protrudes any farther than the stock ones. They cost $175 a set with free shipping. Google up KC International Motorcycles. They are CFR Megaphones knock-offs.
Sound is a very personal thing. I think they have a deep rumble, louder than stock, but not as loud as the Pythons I had on my Dyna or Softail.

Wow those are some large diameter mufflers. They look good back there. Going now to look at the web site. Thanks
* site says they are 29" long and I believe that is the length the Tri glide needs. Have you had any problems with scrapping the ends? I won't have a lift kit on this trike.

The Freewheeler muffler is 2 1/2 inches shorter than the Tri-Glide muffler. I took a rotary file and made sure all welding splatter was clear. The header pipe will slide into the muffler input pipe far enough to make up the difference.
None of the trikes wife and I have had ( 4 of them ) has had any lift kits, and we have never scraped a muffler. I've been riding for 50 years and driven lowered cars. The trick is not to enter or exit a driveway or speed bump at 90*
