I talked to Iron Cross awhile ago. The folks there sound like they have a very good product and I believe that they do a very good job of repairing the HK head unit. I've been thinking about this all summer and I think that I am going to buy some other brand of marine radio instead of having my Harmon Kardon repaired. I've been fortunate enough to own 8 Harleys so far. 6 of them had Harley factory radios in them. If I'm counting correctly, 4 of those radios have failed within 3 years of buying the bikes new. This includes my 2012 TriGlide. So given their dismal( in my opinion ) reliability, why would I want to tear the HK head unit out of my bike, have it rebuilt, put it back in the bike and have it fail again in a couple of years? I think I'm going to give another company a try.

I haven't delt with Iron Cross personally, but from the reports on all the forums when they re-do a radio they change the stuff that has been causing all the problems in the first place.
From what I've read there isn't any more problems.

If you use the Garmin interface or CB radio you are going to loose those functions with an after market head. Since I use these functions all the time I would send it to IronCross and get it fixed.
