Default Really Need Help !!

Hi Guys/Gals

I am having problems with my stereo system on my 2011 tri glide. As soon as I turn the bike on the only thing I hear is static. No matter what I try it doesn't go away. I have tried and every once in a while if I totally shut off the bike and retry it might work. This just started happening so I am not sure what to do. Is there something wrong with the radio most of the time and other times it will work. Any ideas??

Turn off, remove battery, place in bag of rice. Wait 3 days.
It worked on my phone

You could have accidentally pushed your squelch all the way open, that will create static only from your system.

If you haven't done this yet, try your helmet headset. Flip the speaker switch to 100% helmet speakers. Does it work in the helmet?

Also check in the audio section of this forum. I believe in the sticky section there is a procedure to run the diagnostics. When I did that it came back with multiple errors that made no sense. I have a 2012 Triglide.

So I called Ironcross Audio and sent them my radio. It had a cracked motherboard. They fixed me up, updated and improved some stuff and changed my LED display to blue. Still works great. They will tell you to look for a cracked fairing mount bracket. I didn't have any cracked brackets, but my radio still vibrated bad enough to crack some circuits.

Oh ya, just make sure your CB and Intercom are both shut off, then neither can cause this by accident.

Good luck!

Yeah all that...Iron Cross will cost you $250, and you still have a H-D HU that is not all great....it happened to me as well. I did some asking around in the audio forums and discovered a new Sony HU is about $199 and will do most of what the Harmon will do, plus, added some better speakers and an amp....rock on!
