Default Modifying my trike: Going foot free!

I'm excited to transform my trike into a foot-free riding machine (note: I use the word I liberally. My husband is doing the modifications for me! Lucky girl!).

I'm a paraplegic, and looking forward to start riding soon! These modifications will enable me to do that...

First modification: Klictronic Electric Shifter from So Cal Trikes.

I will post my trike's metamorphosis... In case others are interested in doing the same (or have ideas for us).

Should we dare open the envelope?

Kliktronic is the best but must be fitted accurately!

You will need to have something to put it into neutral as sometimes it is difficult to select with the push button.

For those interested, there is an automatic clutch for sale in the touring parts classifieds. You still shift the gears, but you don't need a clutch to engage/dis-engage.

We heard the install could be tricky. The instructions (and knowledge of the installers) made it easy. So Cal Trikes has great instructions and some nice modifications to the bracket.

We are taking it slow, and trying to let time and necessity determine and prioritize our next steps. The Klicktronic is up and running!

More to come...

As our riding season is starting to wind down due to the heat (as most of you are just getting started...), I am excited about my next modifications. I am anxiously checking my mailbox daily for 1) foot board extenders from tGlide Stuff, 2) crotch cooler from Captain Itch, 3) cooling fan from Ward's Parts Werks and 4) a Panda Bandana. I had to add the last one as this seems to be a male dominated hobby...

I went with the one on the left. What do you all think? I think this should extend our riding season a bit.

More to come...
