Take a tape measure and stretch it fingertip to fingertip. Now compare that to the width of your rear axle on the freewheeler. Mine are about equal, so I just kept in mind that anything I could reach out and touch was TOO CLOSE! After a while it's second nature, but that rule of thumb helps out the first few gas stations and/or tight turns.
