Default Tri-Glide Trunk Removal

I want to remove the trunk from my wife's 2011 Tri-Glide to install a trailer hitch but can't find any details on how to remove it. Anyone have any experince or thoughts on this?

You shouldn't need to remove the trunk to put a hitch on it. There are four tapped holes in the frame under it to bolt to. At least that's what my hitch bolted to.

I didn't even jack mine up. Just laid on the floor and installed it.

There are 6 or 8 bolts to remove the body. Plus you have the electrical connections. The step by step on how to is in the service manual.

Whatever you do, do NOT jack up the trike like in the video above. The guard under the rear pulley is NOT made for that.

First off, you need your shop manual and trike supplement. Body removal is outlined. It is very easy and quick, 15 minutes. You just need a extra person to lift it off. It's not heavy. If you do take the body off, it is a good time to seal it at the bolt locations, and where the tour pack mounts to it. If you haven't already done it, it is also a good time to put on the lift kit. I wish I had pulled the body to do the lift. It is also a great time to visually match components to what you read in your SHOP MANUAL and SUPPLIMENT and take photo's.

Ditto on DKs post. The service manual specifically says do not use that frame as a lifting point for the rear.
