It is easy enough to cut the shield and I thing there are instructions in the DIY section of this forum. If you don't want to do that, get a lower shield from the factory or many of the after market companies. A properly fitted shield is a must for worry free riding.

I use NOVUS cleaner on my windshield. Got the kit 7100 to polish out some sun damage and scratches. It really works put some new life back into it. You can get it like all things on Amazon.

For years i have been using a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide for bug removal and Plexus for the polish.

I've been using the peroxide/water for a very long time. Bugs literally melt off and never any paint/chrome damage.

I was a Plexus fan but the cost was getting too much. I switched to Original Bike Spirits. Much cheaper and I use it just as I did with Plexus.

Where can I find Original Bike Spirits at? I use Plexus too but like you say it tends to get a little spendy after while..

I bought my last few cans at my local Honda dealer. I think amazon handles it.

I have been using Rain-X for plastic now for about 4 months. I can't remember if I got it while traveling up north or down here in SW Florida.

It does better than the wipes, but not as good as most of the plastic waxes or protectors that I have used.

If you are expecting it to work as good as the automotive Rain-X you will be disappointed.

Bugslide works best for me. It is also a great detailing product.
