Replacement brake pedal

Though not a cheap mod,E-Z Brake offers a shorter and lower rear brake lever. Good people to deal with and very helpful.

I think the idea of putting a plate on the peddle & extending it rearward about 4" so you step down on the plate might work.
Not sure what that would do to the leverage to apply the brakes.
Or maybe a reversed pivot arm to depress the OEM peddle. But extends rearward.

I went to the e-z brake website. This pedal was specifically made for folks that have physical health issues and looks like it might be perfect for Bear. $200 is not a lot of money to have safety on a 1200# trike.

I just modified a brake pedal for my wife's '12 TriGlide(she is real short(5'-1"). I cut the pad plate off and moved the pad back 1" and up about 5/16" to help clear the floorboard when depressed, plus installed a reduced reach set to move her forward.
Because the leverage on the master cylinder has changed I'm guessing more pressure will be needed on the pedal to help stop the trike.
I will be sending the lever to the powder coating shop to have it coated black even though I have it clean enough I could have it re-chromed.

This is what I looking to do eventually. Right now the plate I was thinking about is just a temporary fix. I'm glad you mentioned the pedal plate rather than what I was thinking which was cutting out a section of the pedal. I can get another pedal from a forum member to cut on. I can get it powder coated at work but my only option is black but down there, that should be fine.

The plate the maintenance guys made is installed on the pedal. We also glued the rubber pad onto the plate. They made the plate out of quarter inch stainless and countersunk the two screws. I have moved the trike in and out of the garage a couple times and am able to press it down OK. I just need to get permission from the doc again to ride. I also got a pedal from Kal down the road and Gary from Hash Mufflers (google it) has it in charge of making it a shorter pedal. Thanks for the pedal suggestions.
