Replacement brake pedal
I've laid low over the winter. I had six surgeries where they removed all the toes on my right foot. I need a shorter brake pedal for my 2013 trike. I got it out yesterday and rode it to work today. As a school bus took my space I pounced the rear brake pedal. I could only get the part of my foot in the fairing where the shoe has no toes in it and couldn't depress it. Do they make a shorter pedal to move it back a couple inches? I rode the 94 bagger a couple times and it wasn't an issue. Just assumed the trike would be the same. Need help. Thanks, Bear

Is there any chance you know somebody who could cut out an inch or two from the lever and maybe TIG weld the lever back together? It won't look too pretty, but, it should work. Once you get the brake lever the length you want, I bet somebody like Kevin or Dennis could make a custom lever to fit your needs.

Wouldn't flattening the peddle out some allow the ball of your foot to step on it vs the toe area?

I work in the maintenance area at work. Although I'm not a mechanic. I repair tools. I talked to one of the guys yesterday about making a plate like 4x6, remove the pad, put some angle on the plate so it won't hit the floorboard, bolt on the plate, re-install the pad about 3 inches rearward. Hopefully this will be a temporary fix until I can either find a reduced reach pedal or have one made. I can't believe I'm the 1st person with this problem. One last quick question as I'm in the house ready to head to work, Does the brake pedal fit ove a spline so it can be adjusted up or down a bit? I seen it was different than my '94 but have never had to pull it before.
What distresses me the most I grew up thinking and acting like I was bulletproof. Now I am a weak old man. I look back now and realize I shouldn't have pissed off every woman I ever lived with to the point they would move out. It would be nice to have one one now.
Thanks, for your continuing input. Bear

Bear, You have got two kewl motorcycles and a lifetime of knowledge/experience. It is not too late to attract a woman who may also be lonely and looking for companionship. With all of that experience and hopefully some wisdom, you will likely not make the same dumb moves with a new honey that we all have done at one time or another. Get healthy, get that trike rolling and go find a chick to ride on the back of your trike!

I just modified a brake pedal for my wife's '12 TriGlide(she is real short(5'-1"). I cut the pad plate off and moved the pad back 1" and up about 5/16" to help clear the floorboard when depressed, plus installed a reduced reach set to move her forward.
Because the leverage on the master cylinder has changed I'm guessing more pressure will be needed on the pedal to help stop the trike.
I will be sending the lever to the powder coating shop to have it coated black even though I have it clean enough I could have it re-chromed.
