Default Heat Shields

Putting on new Exhaust. I was looking at my heat shields as I was removing them. So anyway, my heat shields are a little scratched here and there, not real bad but can see em a little. So as I was putting on the new headers I thought I would just get some new heat shields, I mean after all, how much can they be........ Good Gosh!!!!!!! Think I will reuse the ones I have....

BTW, anyone have any cheap PM me

I've been thinking about powdercoating mine to look like the shields on the new CVO Breakout ProStreet. Check those out.

If you are looking for heat shields, check with some of your local dealers. I had one with a cracked mount that rattled like crazy, and the local dealer told me that HD considered this a clamp, and not covered by warranty, and they didn't have new ones in stock anyway. BUT they had a pile of take-off heat shields, and swapped one out for me. Would not have thought that this would be possible, but it was the solution.

Thanks for the idea, I did talk to the dealer about new shields and he priced just one at like 231.00 I'll go down the take-off route with them...

Check Cragslist for the total exhaust. They usually ASK
from $100 to $200 dollars for the complete exhaust.
I just responded to an add for $75 dollars...As I want
to de-cat the exhaust.....tenn

What about leather ones? I have ones from Captain Itch, and love'em! I think they provide a lot more protection than the HD ones. Just an idea... And much cheaper.

Different heat shields. The ones they are talking about clamp directly to the exhaust pipe. Captain Itch are 'crotch coolers' and attach over the stock Harley plastic ones, but are bigger.
