Default Reverse Motor

Hello

Does anyone know what solenoid HD uses on their reverse motors?
Can't shell out $1,400.00 for a new motor when all I need is a solenoid.
Thanks

Are you talking about the drive gear solenoid or the motor solenoid? If for the drive gear you might be better off to take it to a starter motor shop.

Before I would pay $1400 I will go this way.

Mechanical motor driven reverse, about the same price but will last much longer.
Sorry I do not know the answer to your question for solenoid.

I had my reverse motor out 3 or 4 times Cleaned the bushes sanded the commutator myself .. And worked for a short time.. After doing that twice i took it to a rebuilder he rebuild it while i waited [95dollars] That worked for a little over a year.. So i bit the bullet and put in a Moto-trike mechanical reverse in.. Shouda did that the first time.....
Bye the way the Harley's reverse is made by Hitachi ..
