Fishtails on the cannons

Yeah, I discovered that about the fishtails way back in June. I just wonder if the round satin black anodized tips would do the same ? The short slash tips look great, however on a long trip such as I just did of 4,700 miles, my ears reminded me at the end of each day that I should have put the fishtails back on before I left town.

Looks good! I have fishtails on my Softail.

I put mine back on yesterday evening after the TX heat relented somewhat. They are staying on. The ride to work and back today was very pleasant compared to having the short slash tips installed. Route has various speed limits with some hills to climb. 70/75 on I-35, 0 to 35 on the county back roads, 55 on state two lane.

Looks great! I was wondering if fishtails would work on the Tri. Does the trunk door come close to hitting them when open?
I've got an old pair of barely used Screamin' Eagle slip ons with fishtail tips that I was thinking of putting on. They're from a 2003 Heritage Springer. Will they work on a 2016 Tri? May be a stupid question, but is the pipe still the same diameter as it was 13 years ago?

Should be. That is one if the things that hasn't changed. Heck, you have Lake Shore, Chicago H-D and several other of the Mo-Co's stores up your way. Grab a tape measure and check the inlet dia of a street cannon on the wall in the parts dept. or, a take off oem that is laying around the shop.
