15 Trikes Riding The Rattler in the Smokeys
On 9-6-16 about 30 of us, on 15+ Trikes, went for a putt up "The Rattler" in the Smokey Mountains, just outside of Maggie Valley.
Headed out of Maggie Valley, we are near the back of the pack...
Turning onto Rabbit Skin Rd., making sure everyone is there before proceeding on.
Looking like a great road, right from the beginning....
A look back.
Beautiful views everywhere!
That's a lotta trikes, and we can't see the front the line at this right hand turn.
I like these kind of signs! They mean "Lots of fun ahead!"
Coming up to the "Official Beginning of The Rattler"
290 Curves over the next 24 miles!
Off to a good start....
More in next post.

The Rattler continued....
This road is a lot of fun...
...and it is great to be riding with a bunch of new friends on Trikes.
A look back...
...gives a little bit of a feel for how picturesque it is.
Time for an Ice Cream Stop...
They were able to serve the Ice Cream much faster than they could take the $. lol
A photo of some of the trikes on the ride...including the Nissan powered horse drawn chariot.
Back on the road for some more miles of smiles thru the curves.
Before long we are at the end out the route, and ready to turn around.
A shot looking back at our turn-around point. I think between these two pics, almost everyone is in one or the other of them.

The Rattler concluded-
Heading back down the hill...
We stopped at Fergusons, the beginning of The Rattler.
Looked around a bit, had some good conversation...
...a look at some of the Trikes across the road.
Heading back to home-base in Maggie Valley.
This day ended way too quick for me. The next day I am heading out on the Sportster to the Hot Bike Tour.
But we had a good evening of food, drink and conversation!
Trikes mostly put up for the night-
Waiting in line for Hot dogs, burgers, soda, beer and some shine...
...A good time was had by all!

We go down to the Smokies every year, the Rattler is one of our favorite rides. Honestly the wife prefers the Rattler over the Dragon. I like both equally, but have to admit, the Rattler has more area's to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. Thinking of it now, can't wait to go back next year.
