Default brake lights wont go out

I installed a new set of grips this evening on my 2016 Tri Glide and now my brake lights wont go out. What am I missing. I have tried all I know to do. Can some one give me a hint?

Check the switch in the control housing on the right side. Usually this gets broken or displaced during these operations.

Did you put that small cardboard piece to keep from breaking the brake switch in the grip?
Sounds like you didn't.

This is what happens if you don't insert the cardboard piece.
Happens when new grips are installed and you don't protect the brake switch in the right grip.

Now you need a new grip brake switch.

I got aggravated with it and gave up this evening. I will try it again tomorrow after work. I could not believe something so simple could go so wrong.

Well, let's hope it just fell or was pushed out of place.

the instructions never mentioned that. I have throttle by wire and only had to loosen the switch covers not the brake lever. so where is this switch, I thought that happens when changing brake lever not the grips.

When you squeeze the lever, the switch will be revealed as in the photo above.
