Default I think I am done with the Trike

I really tried liking it, 2016 with 5000 miles on it, seat time was there, I just can't ride it anymore, I know I'll take a beating trading in, but that's the way It goes. Looking at the 17 RGU.

You might be better off selling your Tri Glide private sale... Just saying why take the beating. You know they will likely only give you $28K trade, but if you sell private you could get around $32K. That is a ($4,000) difference, enough to pay the extra tax on a Road Glide Ultra and still have a couple grand in your pocket.
Good luck in your ventures. Ride safe.

Default My mind ............ My spirit

My mind/spirit wants very badly to go back on two wheels. Limited Low in fact. Could I do it ? For the moment, sure. 6 mos from now ? Good question. At 71, my knees and circulation issues could become a major issue ........... Ride safe and don't be a stranger.

With 5,000 on it you certainly gave it a try. You could try to sell it yourself but to be honest there were some dealers letting the 2016's go for under $30,000 at the end of the year.

I would let a couple of dealers run the numbers on a trade first. Remember if you sell it yourself and then buy a new one without a trade you are paying all the sales tax, not just sales tax on the difference. Or, if financially possible buy a used 2-wheeler and have both for awhile.

You certainly gave it a shot. I did the same thing with my 2011 Triglide; rode it about 10,000 miles and decided I wanted two wheels. Traded it for a Roadglide Ultra; rode that for about 18 months and decided I missed the trike. Long story short, I ended up with another trike; don't think I'll go back to 2 wheels, but never say never.

What about putting in some gym time? You think that would help with your strength?

sadly, no. It isn't a strength issue. I am still very active. The 2 m/c accidents I had caused internal damage that is now making itself known. My Dr. of internal medicine advised me it would eventually happen after the second one some 30 years back. It's not good when your legs start to go numb at a traffic light or sitting waiting for a train to pass. At least on the trike I can't drop it.
