Default The reality is...

These trikes are just to much fun. I had not ridden in forty years after a crash in the 70's. Got married to a great woman raised two wonderful children paid off house semi retired. Discussed with bride I wanted a Motorcycle she said sure I will ride on three not two I said get in the car we are going shopping. The rest is history we absolutely love Old Shiney a great get away machine. Better than horses don't run it don't have to feed it. (been down that road also). Everyone knows or should know what they can safely handle. Ride safely Fearless

That is the problem. I always lose the argument, no matter who it is.

Speaking from my own experience...My wife and I have ridden on 2 wheels for a number of years. We started thinking about our future riding passion and decided that 3 wheels will serve us best in our future, allowing us to continue with our passion. Once we started riding our trike, we never want to go back to 2 wheels. Our list of pros for having 3 wheels is: stability, handles rocks, sand, oil, and leaves in curves better, tighter turns and more stability in turns, no fear of dropping the ride, no need to balance, safer in rain, greater stopping ability and stability, more luggage space for travel (heck, I can even bring her rollers and hair dryer now!), my wife has freedom to move about (not good on 2 wheels), and more comfortable seating for her. I also am enjoying the mental peace the trike gives me. I will probably think of more to put on the list, but these are some positives for us. We get all of this and can still enjoy the wind in our faces!

I got the trike for my wife's comfort. She has back issues and the Tri-Glide is a lot easier on her back than a 2 wheeler. I have gotten to really love it. I ride everyday in Florida. The trike feels a lot more solid in heavy rain or going through deep puddles. I have been looking around for another 2 wheeler to add to the collection but I do enjoy riding the Tri.

Idiot cager pulled out in front of me on the 'glide and I speared him in the wheel well. Several years and 12 operations to include a replacement knee later, and I finally admitted that the leg wasn't trustworthy enough to hold up 800 pounds in less than ideal conditions and sold the 'glide.

Five years later we went up to Sturgis to visit the daughter at Ellsworth, and it happened to be during the 75th. Took a demo ride on the Freewheeler, the wife took one look at my face, and we drove back home three days later and bought one on the way home.

In my case, I switched to three wheels because I like it. I can and do ride 2 wheels on occasion; I have no health problems that prevent it. When I do ride 2 wheels, I miss the trike. I've been riding over 45 years.

I'm glad you said that first ................... Nothing worse than being in a traffic circle and not being able to decide which turn out to take ................

I still ride 2 wheel from time to time, and forgot to mention the Trike is soooo much more relaxing when you ride in cross winds. Just last Friday a friend and I were out riding, cross wind gusting to 30+ fighting the wind most the day with 2 wheels was painful. With 3 wheels not an issue.

Happy wife=Happy life! I've had both knees and both hips replaced within the last 5 years or so, I'm healthy now, however, the wife likes the trike so much more and won't even consider getting on the 2 wheeler. I have the other bike for me and buddies with short trips, the trike for long fun times with the wife.
