2017 mpg

Stats that might help from our '14 at 15,139 miles, stock motor, I can't imagine that the '17s are that much different:
Probably 50/50 road trip on highways and main roads, the rest running around this rural area. Not much city. Probably 75 percent two-up, probably 50 percent fully loaded. Moderate driving, probably 90 percent at the speed limit (but 10-15 over the yellow curve "limits"!)
33.33 mpg average
(I got a mileage wrong, so the before and after min and max were off, so no max or min mpg, sorry. The phone app says 24.3 and 65.1, we know that's not right!)
Last mpg was 32.7
4.42 average gallons per fill-up, so we don't push it, at 146.9 miles per fill-up. Max fill-up volume was 5.30 gallons.
Longest road trip was a little over 5,000 miles.
If we'd try going 5 gallons a shot at say 35 mpg highway, that's 175 miles on a tank. At that far I probably could no longer feel my rear end, we usually stop for a little bit at around the 80-100 mile range. But hey, Ely NV to Delta UT is only like 167 miles, so that will get you about as far apart as two gas stations can get in the lower 48!
We're wimpy, I guess, the most we've ever done in a day is 460 miles.
FWIW, I use aCar, an Android app, for all three of my vehicles. Just punch in your mileage and gallons and either price per gallon or total. It gives you all kinds of stats and charts and a bunch of other stuff, and you can track all your maintenance costs with it, too. I think it was like six bucks. No relation or anything, I just like using it, it's just a toy. http://www.bluestacks.com/blog/app-r...hive/acar.html

Short trip; Averaged 30 MPG
Wifey and I just finished a short trip (yesterday and today), put 285 miles on the bike - about half of it interstate and the other half off the beaten path (stop and go through small towns). We burned slightly under 9.5 gallons, thus averaging about 30 MPG. Combined riders weight around 375 - 400 #, with 30 # of "stuff", if that. Averaged 70 on interstate and 55-60 for the other half of the trip, when not putting through city limits of various towns. Running Stage 1 kit: Screamin' Eagle slip ons and Screamin' Eagle Ventilator air filter.
