Default Back rests

I see Harley has two different back rests the standard that doesn't adjust and the adjustable one. Is it worth the extra money to buy the adjustable one that cost a lot more money over the standard fixed one. Also when they say adjustable is that just up and down.
Thank you

I think they are referring to adjustable being moving forward and backward. Not sure. Could be wrong.

I have the non adjustable one and it has slots that allow me to raise and lower mine.

I didn't think I'd need the adjustable one cause once I get it set where I like it, I'd never move it again.

I was able to adjust the angle on mine by adding a couple or three washers to the front mounting hole. Boom. Adjusted

I have the adjustable. It can be very comfortable, although it is hard to adjust while riding unless you have very long arms.

I had an adjustable one for 7 years and never moved it. Just got my 2017 and got the one that doesn't adjust. I thought the adjustable one just pushed you up a little is all it did for me. There is a lot of adjustment to be made to the cheaper one.

HD says the non-adjustable doesn't fit. I bought mine for my 09 Road King, had it on my 11 Street Glide, and it went right on my 16 Trike. No problem.

I've used the adjustable for years. it is easy to move on the fly, i change it often to avoid getting stiff. it move forward and back on the fly, up and down can be done but not easy unless u get off the bike.

I have the non adjustable one on Freewheeler 2016 catalog said so not fit trikes but 2017 catalog says it does. I didn't have any problem installing.

I've had both, I liked the ease of removable of the backrest on the adjustable one, but really the fixed one works just as well and a lot cheaper..
Also the fixed one got my 16 TG just fine
