Default Anybody using the ride planning software on their Trike

I have used the ride planning software for trips on the trike. I have found it to be very buggy or I am doing something wrong. I have found that you have to have a pretty good idea of your route so that you can correct it when the ride planner take you out of bounds. I would be interested in hearing other's experience.

Try putting your waypoints closer together that may help with the going off route. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it.

I to have had the same luck when using the auto route on the bikes GPS, It seems to love sending me on endless loops and through cow pastures. My solution is complicated, time consuming and otherwise a pain but it works every time.

I use Rand-McNally tripmaker on the web to lay out my ride, it has the most detailed maps I have found so far. I then re-input that info into Harley's ride planner on the web and export it to a gps file which I upload to the bike.

I've done this for both long and short trips and it works well.

When out for a ride and I need help getting around I plug in the closest town, once there I "goto" home and that has worked 75% of the time to get me back without touring the local cow field.

Hope this helps,
Jeffrey

I've found that Basecamp (Garmin) works best with 2014 and above nav systems.
Basecamp is more forgiving during set-up.

Others on HD Forums claim to have good luck with this set up from the UK:
