Default Freewheeler bumper

After thinking about it a while decided to buy the bumper, they call it the rear guard kit and installed it on my freewheeler.Part #49000069,seemed easy enough to bolt up have had HD's for over 40 years so am used to the sometimes vague instructions. After a short ride looked it over and saw that the arms that go under the body from the guard that connect to the frame brackets had on each side rubbed the body. The rear guard was aligned correctly and everything was tightened correctly.Has anyone had to add any spacers between the frame and the mounting bracket to give the guard a little more clearance on the body? Sorry little long winded, any information appreciated.

Bumper is for Tri-Glide, probably why. Thinking of buying one anyway, do you think a spacer will work? Where is it rubbing? Does the bumper have to lower so it won't rub? If so, then longer bolts in rear with a spacer or washers may help????
