Default Gas Milage 09 TG

My wife and I went on a little 275 mile putt today. We were in no hurry so I ran in 5th gear with the cruise set at 63mph. When I filled up I got 42 mpg. That is the best I ever got with this Trike

I don't have a TG, but you seem to hit the brick wall between 65-70. I can putt around all day beteeen 50-55 on mountain roads and get close to 40. I can get close to 36-38 putting around on two-lanes at 55-60. If I put it in the wind above 70 out there on Mr. Esienhower's interstates...mileage goes down abruptly and I average around 33 at 70-75. It just gets worse from there and it feels real good out around 80, but the mpg goes down to 31. That parachute fully deploys out there around 75-or-so.

VT you are 100% correct. If I run 75 in 6th gear my milage suffers greatly. It drops to around 36 and the faster I go the worse it gets.

I'd kill just to see 30 mpg on a putt, my best to date is 27 and worse is 21.8.

You could do that. All you need to do is decide to ride red.

I got 35 mpg, mixed country crusing, 2 lane highway and city traffic. Just broke 2500 miles, hope it improves more. The engine and exhaust are stock.

I think mosok3 needs to sneek over to oldmsoko's garage one night and see what he has under the hood.

The best I have seen so far is 36mpg on two lane roads in fifth gear. 6th gear at 72mph I get anywhere between 23 and 28. I have close to 8,000 miles, so I doubt its going to get any better. I have the stage one on it with rush mufflers. But I'm happy with it because its running richer and doesn't give me any heat issues. I think the moco needs to change the over all gear ratio, so a person can use sixth gear. Just my opinion. It just don't have the torque to pull sixth gear. I can run mine up to 93 mph in fifth but not that much in sixth.

Thats were my Triglide is at right now. I screwed up when I built the garage and didn't make it big enough for all my stuff. I keep either the Bike at my place and the Trike at my dads or opposite if I'm going to be riding the Trike for a few days. My dads only about 1/2 a mile up the street from me.
