The MoCo is one twisted screwed up company, can't even leave something simple alone.

On my 2010, if you look under the body, between the mufflers you will see four tamper proof 40T torx bolts, this is where mine bolts up. I did replace the torx bolts with grade 8 hex head bolts for ease of service or removal or whatever...those tamper proof are a pain in the butt, and I don't think anyone will steel my hitch, or would they? ummmm

Folks....they do this sort of crap on purpose all the time as often as they can.

Actually, I have not heard of anybody having bumpers fall off the 09 and 10 models. I am sure this is why they wanted to change it. The previous method worked very well and this was simply unacceptable.

If you are planning to go to the Trike gathering in Maggie Valley next year you might want to watch where you park.

The Hitch from dmcsidecars mounts up under the body where their are 4 torx head bolts that go through the frame located between the mufflers. Their hitch fits a TG with or without the rear bumper guard. I'm still waiting for a Hitch that will fit the 2011 TG. Would appreciate any info. Ride safe.

I never thought I would say this and as much as it pains me to do so, nix the welding on the frame. My favorite tools are my welders and hot wrench but welding on the frame is not advisable and is a warranty buster I assume.

Probably the hitch mounted in any fashion may be a warranty problem. It seems the MOCO just looks for any reason to not honor the warranty on a Tri.

Coupe
the welding was in response to oldmsocko advising me to watch were I park in Maggie Valley ( kidding I know).

I replaced the tamper proof torx screws with grade 8 hex bolts for easy removal if service is required at my local dealer, now on the road I guess I take my chances...if the void the warranty, screw em...goos reason to go ahead with the mods...
