I contacted the dealer where it was purchased and they order new end caps for me. When they got here I put a light coating of grease on the fingers and they went in with no problems.
The bumper was easy to install and I agree it should be standard equipment .
Thanks I thought I was seeing things with the broken fingers. When I opened mine up.

The correct part # is 83825-09A and can be purchased at Zanotti on line for 172.99 plus shipping. Barbara only missed the A at the end.
