Tri Glide Rear Shock Inflation
#22
Got my Tri about 2 months ago. Bumped up the shocks to 50, and 2 hours later they are down to 40,and that's just sitting in the garage. I bought used...only about 4000 miles on the 2011. Could the previous owner blown the shocks? Is this something the dealer should have checked out before selling it to me? I do use the HD pump... If I need to get new, any ideas on OEM?

Some people have had trouble with the hose. I think it involved sealing, but I can't remember. It should work tho. Be sure & check the fitting for an "O ring" to seal with, or use Teflon on the threads.
There are other kits that have a gauge & Schroeder valve & release button that fits in the tour pac, but they are spendy. like around $120 or so. They are made by Wheeldock Ez-Air Systems.
They are sold by these people: http://www.moto-xpressdlr.com/wheeldock-EZ-Air.html

That looks like a great idea. Going to get one.
Oh, since the thread is revived; you actualy can use your big air compressor just fine without harming the shocks if it has a regulator on it. Just set the regulator pressure to what you want in the shocks. Hold the chuck on until you don't hear any flow; ta-da, you're at that pressure! It can't go any higher. No need to check it or anything (as long as your regulator is accurate, check first!)
