Default RPM's

is anyone experiensing higher than normal RPMS at higher speeds --- such as 80 or 85 mph...and what are your rpms at that speed ...

my buddy is claims that his overdrive sucks... and at 85 he is around 3600 rpms

My RPM's at 70 mph is 3,000. I don't feel that is excessive.

Your buddy doesn't have an overdrive, the present Harley Davidson 6 speed is a direct drive, the final drive ratio is a 1:1. Overdrive rations are numerically lower than 1:1. The RPM he is experiencing is normal for the final drive ratio he has, actually his engine is running right in the sweet spot.

I ordered a new 30T front pulley from H-D today, for our trike. Right now,it is geared 32T in the front and 68T in the rear. A 30/68 combo should work pretty well, especially when pulling a trailer.

You'll like the change, sure should make pulling the trailer a whole lot easier.

Looks like Imagshack hosed me, guess I'll have to move them to photobucket.
