Cost effective? Like in cheap or what? Check the HD parts book or HD on-line.

This was covered in a previous thread, but I have HD #52709-97 on TG...fits all touring models with opening in seat.

I certainly agree with you Barbara. If he is referring to cost effrective being cheap I don't think he will find that. I can't remember anyone that I looked at being cheap.

I always thought that “Harley” and “Cost Effective” were a contradiction in terms!

Nothing in the Harley parts book is cheap but from a comfort standpoint, a backrest is a good investment; especially if you do any serious touring!

Default 52583-09a

This is the one I have........52583-09A

Says it's not for the trike but it's a hundred bucks cheaper than the one they recommend. I got it to fit--no problem! The one listed for the TG has the gas operated side adjustment. I don't need that.

I ride solo almost all the time. I bought a Saddleman, semi rigid bag that fits perfectly in the passenger seat. It is also designed with a perfect backrest as well and very functional for helmets, jackets and side pockets. I think it was around $175.00 and therefore cost effevtive given its many uses. Good luck.

Good for you. I am happy you found something that is functional and cost effective. Merry Christmas
