Default 2011 Tri Glide Trunk Latch pulled out

Hello I Have a 2011 Tri Glide And the bottom trunk latch was very hard to
pull out I always had to use the key turned half way to get it to come out
Thought it was just new and would loosen up in time . Now went for ride
stopped and got a few things and the whole dam thing came out now there is just a hole there. the latch is in one piece and looks like should go back in
very easy which it does I an put it in to open trunk but it would fall out if I left it . Trunk shuts and latches but I need to know how to put latch back in and fit . Harley is 2 hour away and you would think this would be simple to put back in and well hell it is pissing me off I cant get it I work Maintenance
and cant do this lol DUHHHHHHHHH little help here please .

I do know on my 09 there is a clip that holds it in. Not sure about your 2011 but there must ba a clip that holds it secure. Did you lose it or is it laying inside your trunk??

Did you say 2 hours warranty??? Wow talk about greasing someone. I replaced the clip on my dads 09 Triglide in about 15 minutes, it was pretty easy to do. Looking at the parts book it looks like the lock and clip is the same on the 2011 as it is on the 2009.

After reading some stories here, I started spraying the lock and its various parts with WD-40 once a month. I put a shop rag around it to keep the drippage from getting in the trunk or on the paint.

No problems for me.

Yes I am 2 hours away from my dealer lol ...And the clip is still in there I looked.
I put in lock and turn it to try to get it to stay in place but it does not feel good
I can turn it and it will come out. ticking me off I have to take it in for this but It is what it is

Do yourself a favor, call the service dept and tell them what came apart. You don't want to ride 2 hours and have them tell you the part isn't in stock.

Screwball is %100 right. I would be suprised if they would have the part. If you can see it, it probably just needs installed properly. When this happened to me back in 09 I ordered one and carry it with me as a spare.
