I was 45 when I first started riding a trike, I have no physical limitations, I just found a trike another challenge and learned I really riding one. I got rid of my 2010 Triglide last year and missed not having a trike so I have my 2012 GL1800 at Hannigan right now getting triked.
I'm getting older and back problem made the choice either a trike or a car. The trike is fun but not as much fun as a bike. But it is much easier to ride and less stress. You can ride longer and more comfortably. I've ridden a lot of nice sport bikes in the past that you can really lean and go fast on. So, really, the difference between a trike and a touring or Softail Harley is not that great. And, a Harley is a Haaley. Ride safe and enjoy.
Welcome, we traded for a 2010 Tri Glide about a month ago. I'm 66 and have had a motorcycle license and been riding off and on for 50 years. Third Harley since 2007. Honestly I got afraid I was going to dump the wife on the Heritage. We both love the Tri Glide it is the perfect set up for us at this point. It can get warm on 90+ days but ours doesn't seem to be near as bad as some of the things I've read on this forum.
Welcome and please be sure to come back here with detailed reports on the switch from 2 wheels to three. I too am considering the switch and will be very interested to hear how it goes for you.
