I had a 2004 Ultra Classic. In 5th gear at 2000 RPM I was doing 50 MPH. Now I have the Tri Glide and in 6th gear at 2000RPM I am going 55MPH. It doesn't seem like the 6th gear does much. Can I change the output gear to make the top gear better for highway riding?
Like was mentioned 6th gear & 2,000 RPM. No way would I run my bike like that. I run 6th gear around 3,000 RPM & 80 MPH. Just my 2 cents.
A 2013 has almost the exact same final drive ratio in 6th gear as your 2004 Ultra classic did in 5th gear. When Harley 1st started producing the Triglide they equipped it with a 32 tooth transmission sprocket which gave it a 2.960 final drive ratio vs the 2011 and later 3.15 final drive ratio. They switched to a 30 tooth transmission sprocket in 2011.
They had a lot of complaints from the 09 - 10 owners about the poor low end performance and the fact 6th gear was useless at speeds lower than 75+ mph.
When your in 6th gear at 80 mph your going to be in the 3,500 rpm range which is in the sweet spot of the engines torque band.

55 mph and 60 mph I run 5th gear in my 2011. 65 mph and over she goes into 6th gear. Mine is geared the same as your 2013.

I see this is an old post but wondering if my 2015 TriGlide is geared the same. I have just recently started riding at higher revs (approaching 2500 miles). The owners manual shifting speeds kept me in the 2-2.5k range for most riding. Much better performance at 2.5-3k.
