I have the Harley SE Street Cannon mufflers. Great sound and 50 states legal.

That's why they make chocolate and vanilla. So many choices. I de-catted mine and put on SE street cannons. They make a good sound but a bit loud with the de-cat pipe.

Amen to that statement and yes I know this is an old thread...

Would love to see a graph of decats compared to aftermarket then compare that to stock cat.

There are only so many brands of exhaust. My bet is they've all been tried on a TG and each was set to the ear of the owner. Average sets of mufflers tried by each owner? Not including stock... two sets maybe three would be my guess before settling on the music to their ears. I've tried three sets. Ended up with CVO cans and Fullsac 2" baffles. Still have an old set of VH twin slash laying around somewhere in case I trade.

I thought everyone had at least a couple sets hanging in the garage.... LOL !
I did things a bit backwards like always.... Changed to a pair of older SE Off road only ( Don't know which Harley call them). Upper slash, & you can see from one end to the other. With stock header w/cat. then V&H Monster rounds w/'09 header w/o cat. Then S&S true Tune Duals w/ V&H monsters.
I have too big baffle. Going to fix that this winter. 2.25" now going to go to 2" or less. V&H don't have them so I am going to do my own. Thought about torque cones, but I don't know how they would work out on the 103".

I like the idea of torque cones but I like them more for the reduction of exhaust reversion than exhaust restriction but in any case a good idea if you are on the border of the dreaded too large baffle syndrome.

It's funny you say exhaust hanging from the garage. So many people come to my place to pull their exhaust system they have their new stuff shipped here. So guess where their old stuff is. You guessed it.... A few months ago I did a major run to the local muffler shop recycle bin to get my shop cleaned up.

Default Khrome werks mufflers

Just sold the Khrome Werks on Ebay.
Now, with the help of an old drag racing friend, Jim Maybeck of Big City Thunder Baffles...here is what I did.
Removed the entire baffle from my Vance & Hines 4 in. slip ons. Cut the baffle off, leaving about 2 inches by the doughnut to re-attach to the muffler housing. Bought two lengths of 18" 2 inch dia. pipes from Auto Zone. Along with 4, 2" x 2 1/4" reducers. Steel pop riveted the pips to the reducers and attached to the original doughnut. Now, I have a two inch straight pipe with 3/8 holes drilled at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock postions. Wrapped the entire pipe with fiberglass from Home Depot and reinserted into the 4 inch cans. Man, it sounds really nice. Not too loud but really deep.
All this pleasure for $26. The Big City Thunder Head Pipe Baffles takes care of the exhaust reversion and back pressure so you can do what ever your ears want to the mufflers...
"keep the rubber side down"..........................

Had the big Louie's froom Rush with 3.25 baffles and they were loud. Put my tried and true Fatshotz on there. I like the sound. Good performance and not too loud.
