Got a call from a local dealer, asked if I want to sell them back my Trike. Offered retail plus 500-1500. So I drove 70 miles to the dealer and was told "what? we can't do that" . I asked the girl who called like 5 times "retail plus?". I hate being lied to.

 

that's why scammers do so good....if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is....

 

I'd want someones job!!!!

 

Hope you had a nice talk with the manager of that place!!! Are you sure it was from the HD dealer? I'm getting scammed calls from supposedly the IRS....

 

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. Why would a dealer be willing to pay over retail for a trike it can get for rough trade due to lack of demand?
Hope at least you enjoyed the ride back and forth.

 

All scams have one thing in common that make them work. The detachment from logic on the part of the "victim" because of the desire to get something for nothing.

 

Sounds like a trick to get you in for a trade.

Dealers make a min of 2 grand on a used bike. No way they would give you retail or better.

Ditto on a chat with the GM or SM. Tell them they will be reported to BBB for such tactics but it's your word against hers.

 

Ive had similar happen. What I always do is say "Wow, sounds good. Will you repeat all that and give me your name? Im going to record this so I dont forget anything" . Always hear silence then a click as they hang up.

 

Common Ploy ... Get ya in the door then "Oh, I didn't know that it was ..."

 

More like somebody trying to get you out of the house long enough to break in and relieve you of your possessions.
