Default Check Engine Light Coming On

I have a 2014 Harley Trike with around 4500 miles on it. I bought it new. Around 1000 miles ago; my check engine light would come on intermittently; no problems w/ the riding or handling. So no big deal. upon taking it to the dealer for a recall; I'd mentioned the "check engine" light coming on. They found "history" codes, which they cleared, but could not field reproduce the light to come on--no problem. The day i picked it up, it was about 5 miles, and the engine light came on and went off around 4 more miles. No problem. I went for a long cruise, around 160 miles, the engine light stayed on with me for the last 60+ miles. Still no noticeable ride altering affects. She went to the dealer for a "paint" touch up and I'd mentioned the check engine light keeps coming on; again they found "old history" codes and are now trying to replicate the engine light to come on during their ride? As mentioned to them; there is no one-single period of a point that I can say; ow, this makes it come on, because of how erratic it behaves. Any thoughts?

What ever codes are in the history is where they should be looking to correct the problem. Clearing code and trying to get the light to come on again is not going to fix the problem.
Some sensor is out of spec or has a bad connection but you need the code to know where to look. Maybe they are not giving you all the info as to what they are doing?

What Moe55 said. If you have the factory manual available the next time the light comes on, the manual tells you how to retrieve the codes yourself from the speedo/odometer. Then you can look up the meaning of each code. I don't have the link, but believe there is a forum thread dealing with pulling up codes.
