Default Freewheeler mini-mods

I had removed the lower fairings from my '09 Tri-Glide and replaced them with Linby Mustache Bars, they can be used as crash bars AND highway pegs. When I traded her in I put the lowers back on. While playing with the Freewheeler in the garage, it sure looked like the Mustache bars would fit.. . A little grinding and bending and sure enough, I have Highway pegs on my Freewheeler.

Also, ran a multiple USB plug into the trunk. Now I can charge cell phones, MP3 players etc. I have an old Samsung Galaxy 3 back there with a zillion tunes. I can program the GPS, play music via Bluetooth headphones while traveling, and keep my cell phone charged. Used Velcro to attach to the carpet in the trunk.

Nice work, screwball! Is that a H-D 3 pocket windshield pouch attached to your windshield? And does it work well with the Freewheeler windshield?

The windshield is a left over from wife's 2008 Deluxe. Came with it, she didn't like windshields so it got put into a pillow case and hung from the rafters in the garage. I cut 3" off the top, and reshaped it. Had to modify the quick release brackets a tad and I had a freebie windshield for the Freewheeler. The windshield bag came off my '08 Ultra that was on my '09 Tri-Glide. Had to punch a couple of holes and do a tad of trimming, now it fits like a glove.

That's great that you were able to reuse your older windshield screwball, but I also suspect there is a lot of other parts that will cross over to the Freewheeler as well. I got the 20" windshield and don't like that the top of it is right at my line of sight. It also came with a moulding flaw (small chip in the polycarbonate at the top) so the dealer will be replacing it as soon as a new one comes in.

Couple of more 'convenience' additions. I removed the placard from the dash and used it as a template to cut a 3/16 thick wood replacement. Needs to be at least that thick to clear the lip on the dash. Covered it with automotive carpet that acts like the 'LOOP' part of Velcro. Ran a power cord from a splitter and now I have 4,000 songs on an old MP-3 player. It is also Bluetooth, so I can listen through my SENA headsets. Really surprised how well the FM radio of this 'cheapie' player worked. Also 'stuck' an old watch with the strap horns removed.

While I was at it I hooded an old GPS unit to the center compartment of the windshield bags. Also ran a mini USB cord for power.
