Default 2010 Street Glide Trike

I'm a proud owner of a 2010 Street Glide Trike and I have a question. The trike has no engine guard to place highway pegs. I had purchased an engine guard but ran into a problem. It seems that the steering stabilizer is in the way of placing the engine guard at the top of the frame. My question is has anyone run into this problem and is there a way I can get the engine guard to work on this model ?

The Ultra TG has an engine guard and I find it had to belive it will not fit the SG trike.

You Need The Engine Guard for a 09 -10 Tri Glide. I think Harley calls them Highway bars. Congrats. I like the look of the SG Trike Sporty looking Trike. i think you have to take the damper off to mount the guard to the upper part of the frame then mount the damper to the bar.

Your correct, the damper goes over top of the bar.

I did take the stabilizer off to mount the engine guard but after doing so the stabilizer mount would not bolt up. I took it to the dealership and they don't know how to mount it either, so I'm going to have wait until Harly comes up with something or fabricate something that works I guess.

I don't have access to the parts books at this time or I would see if the part number is the same for Touring vs Triglide.

Maybe the mounting bracket is different then the original bracket on a street glide trike. The tri-glide is a ultra classic frame and the guard mounts different. I need to go to Harley today and look at the parts manual and see what the difference is in the mounting.

Was at Reggie Pinks Yesterday. Had the two side by side. The Tri Glide engine Guard had the bracket for the Damper welded to the Engine Guard. The SG had a bracket Bolted to the plate between the down tubes. Were the engine guard would bolt on to. The damper is bolted to the bracket. The Engine guard for the Tri Glide is Trike specific. As the Harley Trikes have Dampers The Tri Glide "Engine Guard" has the bracket for the stearing Damper welded to it. The TG and SG have the same frame . Did you get a Engine Guard for a Tri Glide. If not it won't work as the plate for the damper is not part of the guard. You need a Tri Glide Engine Guard.

Sounds like another Harley marketing ploy to get the owner to spend more money on "customizing/rebuilding" his/her new ride.
