Well we dropped off my bike for 2 new tires and asked them if they would
have some time to install the Fuel Moto headpipe & their high flow air
cleaner. I figured for them it would take no time at all but they are so
backed up with work that they are making appointments one month out.
I am mechanically inclined but sometimes things just don't go right for me.
So most times if the parts being installed on any of my bikes get to be
alittle much I have a bike shop do it. When I rode dirt bikes it wasn't a
problem cus I wasn't riding fast and if something WAS going to happen
to fall off or break it was no big deal. But riding on the street with other
vehicles and the speed that your doing I have an uneasy feeling of
something mechanically happen because I forgot to tighten something.
But anyway .... I asked a neighbor who is very good at working on cars and
his wrist rocket to help me install the headpipe and maybe the A/C unit
on Sunday morning. The pipe install seams pretty much straight forward
and I haven't looked at the instructions on the A/C install.
Is there anything I should be prepared to do that is out of the ordinary ?
Thanks ...
Rob ....

Lynn can't wait to see how much better her trike will be afterwards !

I hate installing/removing exhaust but that FM headpipe was relatively easy and fit like a glove. I believe I used the exhaust port gaskets that have the taper but someone else mentioned to use the gaskets without (Screamin' Eagle?) for a better fit. Also beware of the gasket for the cross-over pipe. I think mine slipped out. And use anti-seize for the O2 sensors and port plugs you don't use. Have fun!

Boom pretty much covered the exhaust. You may have some trouble with the bracket the ACR wires connect to. I had to use a allen wrench that was cut down so I didn't have to remove or raise the back of the tank.

On the subject of the crossover pipe gasket, it's like a boxy donut shaped steel wool thing & easy to mangle up (which I did). After finding out that a replacement was a backorder, I reshaped mine & coated it real good with high temp silicone (Permatex copper). That worked out very well. Oh, the AC install is very easy.

Thanks for that info. I guess I'll have to get mine on order! Also should buy the Permatex copper.

Forgot to mention that---a bit of a slow-down on install.

ditto on that bit of a slow down, I also modified an allen wrench but with a little patience, its doable without the tank being moved.
