Default PGR~Road Guards

Are any of you members of PGR and Road Guards on your Tri Glide? Or another trike? If not, are trikes and TG allowed to be Road Guards?
Thank you for your feedback!

I am also a member both PGR and ALR. I seen many other trikes at these events.

After a lot of heartache and pain (on my part), I was told yesterday that the "Senior" Road Guard was incorrect. If I pass all their tests I could become a Road Guard. However, I would be a tail gunner unless there was a shortage of Road Guards for that mission.

Default Ride with care

I also ride with the American Legion and the Patriot Guard. There are persons in any group you choose to ride with that don't like trikes. The reasons are many and all unjustified. Personally, I like the rear its more relaxing and no one pushes you. However if you can mount a 3 X 5 foot American Flag on your Trike generally you can ride toward the front. I have experienced less garbage with the Patriot Guard then the Legion Riders.

In nay event

When is all this discrimination from Trikeaphobics going to end???? I am the Riders Director for my ALR Chapter. We would not have very many big events if trikes weren't allowed to participate. If a person on a trike wants to be a road guard, I'm glad to have them volunteer. I'm pretty sure that the PGR feels the same way.

Our local HOG chapter would rather trikes not act as road guards. If the roads are a tad narrow, it is a lot easier for a 2 wheeler to pass the formation and get to the next intersection without riding on the wrong side of the road, or gutter running... especially if there are parked cars. Some times your choice of transportation can limit your participation. Wife and I ride trikes, I personally like riding sweeper. Good Luck

I'm Road Captain for our H.O.G. & no-one has really had a problem with our Trikes as long as everyone observes the safety rules . You are correct on the weaving through traffic Steve. But most of the time there are bikes placed along the route ahead of the procession with P.G.R. We can't always get that done, but try to anyway. As far as speed it doesn't matter much, but the ability to get past knot-heads always plays into the game !
A Trike will throw crap all over another bike that gets too close when you hit gravel, dirt, or a little water! I have had people just a little upset because I couldn't dodge the crap!
