I don't believe the thumb screws the dealers stock will work on the TG.

The ones we have from the dealer didn't fit, they hit the back box before they could even come close to engaging any threads. FWIW I don't mind the screwdriver, at least I don't have to worry about dropping a big assed thumb screw and then trying to find it.

Has anyone tried the Drag Specialties Six Shooter Seat Mount **** (1/4- 20 Thread) (Chrome)?
Would this fit the Tri-Glide?

I don't think any thumb screw will work because of the recessed area where the screw goes into before it engages the threads. If you really want to use a thumb screw you would have to use some kind of thread extender to clear the recessed area.

HA! I have to get up on the seat with my knee to get that darn screw to go in.....And I've dropped it several times, luckily it did fall to the floor,

I've lost that screw before, and ran the trike without it for quite a while before I replaced it. Unless ya dump it upside down, I don't think will hurt a thing. JMO

I find it easier when putting on my seat to get it hooked up front first and then when I getting ready to push the back of the seat down I put the screw in and hold it down with a fairly long Phillips head screw driver.

I've got a little more room between my tour pack and the back of the seat because I've used the tour pack relocation kit which has allowed me to move the tour pack back around 2-3 inches. I also open the tour pack and lift the passenger backrest pad up and use the lid wire to hold it up and out of the way.

Take a 3" or longer bolt , you decide how long fits your needs the best. Loctite a nut all the way up the threads so it won't go through the hole on the seat. Mount anything for a thumb wheel on the top as to turn with our fingers, or leave the hex head to use a wrench or driver to operate. Paint it, plate it, anodize it, leave it silver, or polished brass if that is what metal you used.........
In other words make yourself your own custom long thumbscrew. Or,,, I guess you could wait for someone to make one for ya & charge you $$$.
