Default Voltage regulator recall

I received my letter from HD informing me that HD "has recently implemented process improvements at the supplier level to the voltage regulator assembly to address durability issues."

The letter goes on to say they were offering a "no cost upgrade service" on affected 2012 motorcycles. In other words, a recall on the voltage regulator.

Did anyone else receive the recall notice?

The letter said it applied to bikes made between October 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012.

It will quit charging your battery and then when the battery voltage drops to low you get to push it home or call a flatbed.

It's been discussed a lot over in the touring section...basically a bad batch of VR's....my bike was in the build range, but my VR was not from the effected batch.
They remove you VR and check the serial number....and replace it at no charge if needed.

It's like mike stated, going down the road and bam, VR quits charging once battery is completely drained, bike stops....
