2014 Triglides

I had a Roadsmith kit on a 2008 Ultra. It had IRS, rode soft and cornered ok. When I traded for a 2012 TG, it was a different world. The ride was ok but it cornered great. On one particular ride, my buddies put me in front so they wouldn't run off and leave me. We were on US421 (the Snake) in northeast TN. They couldn't keep up. The one directly behind me was on a 2011 Ultra, his footboards were scraping the pavement trying to keep up. I couldn't have done that on the Roadsmith with IRS. BTW, I wasn't trying to beat them, I was just riding in my own comfort zone.

If you take a look at the new Softails you will see they are made with the new style ECM and BUS Modulator. All the handlebar switches are two wire like a computer network system. The CAN has much faster processing than the older style ECM and can bring many more operating experiences into play such as a favorite of mine on my '12 Heritage... Hit the trip button and it will show in digital format what gear you are in and your RPM's where you normally read your mileage. There is no Tach on a Heritage.
Since this is all two wire like a computer network you have less cabling and smaller wiring harness snaked under the tank and through out the bike. It will make it much easier to change out handlebars as well.

I understand that the BCM is standard equipment in the near future (from H-D at a Technician Class in Milwaukee). As for IRS, HDMC is very proud of their Tri-Glide and elected to not use IRS because of the lack of handling it offers. Add the shorter wheelbase they use and the Tri-Glide would be all over the road.
And pricing? These things could be another $4000-$5000 and still be priced right! They are a buy at $32000!

You have to figure CAN BUS should hit the Touring line pretty soon, HD normaly uses Softails or Dynas as their bata testers before implimenting it on the Touring line.

I have a Brother in Law who has a friend and his cousin has a Brother in Law who has a friend working in a chemical Company and he said that the MoCo is purchasing and stocking up on anti-freese in huge quantities. That can only mean one thing.............................
