Anyone haul their trike around with a trailer . I wonder what vehicle I need to pull the trailer with trike in it?

Toyota 4runner pulling a 7x12 v-nose tandem trailer.

 

I never quite captured the concept behind putting a motorcycle on a trailer. Why not just drive the motorcycle!?

 

Just bought a Pace American 7X14 tandem axle (brakes on all four wheels)... Picking it up Monday wirh a Toyota Tundra (2003 with V8). I had a 5X10 (sold it) so I could get a trailer 7 feet wide so the TG would go in and out without a problem. The trailer weighs right at 2000 lb and the TG is about 1100. Put some extra stuff in and you are at 3500 to 3800 lb.... I want a full size with V8 for that.

 

We have a tandem 8 X 20 flat bed from the old dirt bike and quad days. Pull it with a 300hp 330ci V8 Ford F150 Super Crew. Trailer is handy, During a couple of Bike Weeks we took our bikes, our kids bikes and friends (6 Harleys). We are retired and went down a week early. The rest flew in and their bikes were there and ready.

4 bikes on the trailer, the Blackwood before the F150 Back in the 2 wheel days.

 

When we do haul the trike for a long distance I have a 7x14 NEO enclosed v-nose. That is pulled by a Jeep Grand Cherokee w/HEMI.

 

One ton --Chev crew cab diesel pulling 25' Wells Cargo V nose (hauls 4 HD's)

 

Iron Horse with a 6 Cyl Ecoboost F150. Over kill on the power.
I would not hesitate to pull with almost any standard 6 cyl.

It really comes down to how aerodynamic the trailer is, the wheel base, and not so much the power. With that said there are laws that one has to obey.

Only put in trailer if needed to go to shop for repair. Tailor is a 8x12 Haulmark Low Hauler, V noise with tandem axel and brakes. Generally pulled with a Toyota Tundra 1/2 ton V8.
