Default Boom Audio Half Helmet Headset

Has anyone tried one of these on a half helmet?

We have something like it. We bought some from ebay before HD started selling them. They work pretty good. When you ride in "no-helmet" states, you can keep you tunes going.

Bought 1 in Bismarck, ND on our way to Milwaukee. The headband broke before we got to Milwaukee.

No dealer would replace it under warranty, but I got in touch with a factory rep at Milwaukee HD, as he was there for the 110th. He ordered me a new one and had 1 day expressed.

I haven't used the new one enough to see if it is going to hold up. They do come in a nice case, and if this one breaks, I will use the case for the cheap 70.00 aftermarket that I have. I have been using the aftermarket because it actually sounds better, it just doesn't fit as well, and causes my ears to hurt after a half day.

I bought the half helmet headset in 2010 when I got my '09 TG. As mentioned above I liked the fact that you could have your tunes without wearing the helmet. What I found to be a problem is after using them for two and a half years daily the wiring inside the headset got broken or some connection came loose. It may have been my fault with rough handling of them or not. Anyhow, I could not figure out how to disassemble them to make repairs so I tossed them.

I too bought the HD headset for wife and I. Her set broke after a short time. Took it back to dealer and they replaced it. That was three years ago! Now my set has a broken wire or some thing. I only get sound from one side part of the time. We do like the headsets, we use them every time we ride. I have some friends that have them too and they have had same problem. Hope HD get this wiring or whatever taken care of. Because I will be replacing my set this spring.
