Default Installing Brakes

Hello All.. I need to install new brakes so I have to buy 4 sets 2 for front 2 for rear I called J&P got part #244-797 which will fit front or rear. My question is My rear brakes have squealed since day one and was wondering if there is a pad out there which will stop that . And I have changed brakes on all my cars
(DISC) is doing a bike any different ?

Default brakes

I have not replaced the brakes on my TriGlide, the front will be like any other bike and I'm sure the rears pretty simple when you look at them as far as the squealing goes I would rough up the rotors with emery cloth to get rid of the glaze. Make sure that your parking brake is not adjusted to tight when released this will cause the pads to drag ad polish them causing a squeal.

Lyndell brakes don't squeal.

When I first got my trike it squealed. I had the brake TSB done and it started squeeling again. Installed Lyndal Gold pads and all is quiet and has been that way for about 5,000 miles. I also have a lot less brake dust now.

The Triglide doesn't use the same brake pad front and rear, they are 2 different PN's. Sounds like the person at J&P doesn't know much about a trike.

Make sure you have the Tri-Glide supplement manual and follow pad replacement steps carefully on rear. You'll need the pin, c-clip, lock nut replacement kit also. I recommend Lyndall pads. Careful with that parking brake adjust.

I know its been said before, but just in case you have not heard, a lot of us have removed the rear parking brake ***'y completely and opted to use a small velcro strap around the front brake lever/throttle. I do this when on a slop when I do not trust 1st gear only. Personal choice of course.

I have the Lyndall pads all around on my 2011 TG using the original rear rotors. Changed pads when TG was new. No squeaking, no chatter and has shorter stopping distance, w/less pedal pressure than the 2014 TG with the "updated" rear brakes.
