Default My baby is sick

We got back from Sturgis with some additional time in Yellowstone last Saturday. I took what many would say was the "*****" way, and trailered our 2012 TriGlide behind a rented RV. Between rides at Sturgis and Yellowstone tours, we put about 500 miles on her. Got home Saturday, and did a few miles of local rides over the weekend. Monday I spent a few hours washing and waxing off all the bugs and road gunk. Then this morning as I was admiring the beautiful shine, I decided to take her for a ride.

ALAS!!! I hit the start button only to be greeted by a slow running starter, some nasty sounds in what appeared to be the crankcase, and then it would stop turning over. I made arrangements to have AAA tow her to the dealer on Thursday. Oh yeah...she is still under extended warranty. Hopefully that covers whatever ails her.

Should I have not washed her? Was she not happy leaving Sturgis and Yellowstone, to be sentenced to boring Northern San Diego?

Please pray for my baby...

You might have got some water in some of the electrical somewhere. Could cause bad contact. Hope it isn't serious !

Sounds like what my 11 XXX did a few months back. I put a new battery in it and that solved the problem. The engine turned over real slow when cranking, to the point of not even turning over. Since I installed the new battery, it starts first time every time.

Good points about the battery...or something electrical that I got wet. The noise it made freaked me out...but maybe that was the starter solenoid freaking out. I'll give it a better look over before the tow truck comes for it.

Thanks for the info everyone! Turns out it was a dead battery. Not sure why it was dead but I'll look into that. I was freaked out by the noise the solenoid made. It sounded like something really bad...

It wasn't the battery, it was the trailering to Sturgis. Karma.
