Default Wheel bearing failure

I know this an old post but FYI i had wheel bearing failure with 13,000 miles on the trike. I could feel a thump at idle speed. No noise, no vibration over 15+ MPH
I Rode 700 miles and brought to mechanic when I got home to find out what the thumping was. Lucky I made it home. Keeping spare seals and bearings in the trunk!!!

I have a freewheeler. I run 25 psi in the rear and 36 in the front. Very smooth ride . My air shocks are usually set to about 19 / 20 PSI. I ride solo all the time and this set up works great all day long. Anything above 25 PSI in the rear and the rear end gets a bit bouncy.

Kevin, Thanks for the detailed explanation and research you did on why the specs are published on the rear tires of our trikes. Lowered the pressure to 22 pounds and the bike rides and handles much better. I have been telling my fellow trike owners and they are responding by trying it out for themselves. Bob
