Grease on rear wheel?
Couple of us rode down to Delmarva bike week today. one guy has a 2011 Tri Glide. He noticed when we got here that there is grease on the rear left wheel. It is spun all around the outer part of the wheel.
So I looked at the parts breakdown for the rear axle of his bike and see its not like a car axle filled with grease but has a outer and inner wheel bearing on each left and right axle. So what I'm thinking that the wheel bearing is filled with grease and sealed. And for my friends trike the seal must have failed and the grease is oozing out of the bearing and then out onto his wheels.
Is my thinking right? And so what he needs is the bearing replaced? Tks for any help

Not a trike but I had grease marks like you described when the front wheel bearing went bad on my 09 Road King. At the time I didn't understand what was happening and I wiped away the grease a few times and of course it stopped because there was no grease left, shortly after the bearing fell a part.
