Question Trike Front Calipers

Do my rheumy old eyes deceive me, or do the latest trikes have trick new front brake calipers? I haven't personally seen a 2015 trike yet, but the calipers are quite a different shape to current solo Brembos and might just be 6-pot. If so they could be a possible upgrade for solos?! Part numbers are #41300023 and #41300024. Anyone else noticed?

this was another piece I had noticed that was different on the euro trike. Both calipers looked like the pre Brembro models, but larger. Each caliper also had two brake lines attached. I can not locate the picture I took, maybe it's been deleted.

The front and rear calipers are linked, according to H-D's website, which may explain the two pipes. It is the fact that they look much bigger that drew my eye!

What I've read, MOCO changed manufacturers from Brembo to Hayes and YES it is a linked brake system.

I can confirm that it is a linked brake system, with 6 piston calipers. Two pistons are activated by the rear brake pedal, with four by the front brake lever.

I LOVE my 2015 Freewheeler. The front calipers are different than those on wife's '11 Tri-Glide, and are linked. Foot pedal operates both front and rear, lever only activates the front. Very happy with the stopping, but didn't have a problem with my '09 Tri-Glide.

If you go to the Harley website and look up the 2015 Tri Glide, the trike that first comes up is the overseas model. You can see that the front calipers are bigger than the older models.

Thanks Mark. I half-hoped they were 6-pot, but being separated out to 4 and 2 doesn't make it easy to adapt them for use on a solo, which would have been great! I have been using a custom 6-pot set-up for several years on my Glide, but it isn't very robust and is now worn out, so I am shopping around for a replacement.

I got to see a new trike yesterday, after all. Love the look of those 6-pot front calipers, but my hopes of using them as an upgrade for a solo are scuppered by the way they are plumbed, 4 and 2. Ah well!

If you really want them, plumb in a couple "T's" & have at it.
