For sale is my 2009 Velorex 562 sidecar.

I purchased the sidecar from the original owner earlier this year. He'd bought it brand new for his dog but found that the dog wouldn't ride in it so he removed it from his Honda after only 80 miles.


I completely disassembled the sidecar and modified it significantly for use with my 2007 Sportster. For example, I:

• strengthened the frame by welding in a heavy gauge pipe as a diagonal brace;
• welded a step plate onto the frame for stiffening it which also reinforces the suspension tower;
• welded on a custom bracket for the rear lower mount (the original clamp is a known weakness);
• welded on the front part of the frame to align it with the main frame;
• had a new custom axle made from high tensile steel to accommodate a Harley-Davidson wheel;
• fitted a chrome fender and Fat Boy alloy wheel;
• relocated the lighting system and added a connector to plug and unplug the system quickly; and
• fitted a lap seatbelt.

Following a change of personal circumstances and riding the outfit for a few weeks (around 200 miles) with ballast only I decided to take the sidecar off again and, reluctantly, put it up for sale.

The sidecar comes with the original documentation and mounts, as well as the two keys for the compartment behind the seat.

I also have a custom subframe for rubber mount (2004 and later) Harley-Davidson Sportsters. The standard Velorex clamps do not work well for the two lower mounting points on the Sportster. The subframe bolts to the Sportster's frame and provides mounting points for the lower sidecar mounts using the original Verlorex eye bolts.

Everything is in either as new or very good condition, as per the photos, but the sale is "as is" with no warranties. I am seeking in the order of $3000 for the hack, including the Sportster subframe.

The motorbike in the photos is obviously not included in the sale!

Could it be fitted to a 2012 Street Glide?

I need a bracket similar to that "F" one you put on your bike. Do you still have side car? Can you make another?
